Professionals' Training

We offer a 1 day online training for professionals focusing on ARFID for up to 20 professionals in your trust/organisation (£1400 day training fee). The training is tailored to suit the attendees’ skills and needs, e.g., understanding the interaction of ARFID with neurodiversity or discriminating between eating disorders. The information disseminated is evidence-based. A typical day is led by two Clinical Psychologists (from Dr Gillian Harris, Dr Elizabeth Shea, Dr Maddy Greville-Harris) and comprises:-

Morning Sessions: 
  • Diagnosis of Avoidant and Restrictive Food Intake Disorder
  • Understanding the development of food acceptance 
  • Understanding appetite regulation 
Afternoon Sessions: 
  • The sensory aspects of food acceptance
  • Feeding interventions and management; specific to age and presentation (child/or adult)
  • Case studies can be submitted, or a Question-and-Answer session offered (1 hour).

We also offer a short course for professionals -  £150 per individual, with 5 attendees (3 hours)
This short training covers an overview of feeding difficulties and interventions; with reference to attendees’ needs and skill set. With Dr Gillian Harris & Dr Elizabeth Shea.
